My friend Tiffany and I caught up at Strathfield on Saturday for lunch. It was the second time I’ve been to Strathfield and we chose the cuisine that Strathfield is known for- Korean food.
There were a number of Korean restaurants to choose from. However, whilst looking at the menu outside Ceci Korean Restaurant, a friendly waiter came out and introduced Ceci’s menu to us so we decided to dine there.
Ceci was already quite busy when we arrived, there were a number of families and young people eating lunch.
Tiffany and I decided to order to share so that we can try more food, here’s what we ordered:
- Korean Style Cold Noodles ($10)
- Honey Potatoes ($10)
- Chestnut Jelly ($13)
Whenever I eat Korean food, I most look forward to the side dishes, which are complimentary and you can usually get free refills upon request. The side dishes differs from store to store, on this particular day at Ceci, we were served four side dishes- kimchi, potatoes, bean sprouts & green vegies. I’m generally not a fan of kimchi, so I can’t comment. However, I was slightly disappointed with the rest of the side dishes (especially the potatoes).
The Chestnut Jelly was supposedly an “entrĂ©e”, but it was massive! I enjoyed the jelly and various types of vegies tossed together with a mild chilli sauce. The Honey Potatoes were in fact sweet potatoes that have been roasted and drizzled with lots of honey – this was my favourite dish that day.

Hey S, looks good!
Have you tried Jong Ga Jip in Eastwood? They’ve got an even bigger selection of side dishes, hahaha.
Thanks for dropping a line Joanna! Is Jong Ga Jip the place that gives you about 10 side dishes? I’d love to go sometime!
Yeah, think it’s about 10, LOL. I lost count. Their seafood pancake is HUGE as well. You should try it out
