Kam Fook – Chatswood

IMG_3559

With the restaurant booked out for their big day, Wendy and Samuel had about 300 guests present at Kam Fook Restaurant to celebrate the start of their marriage. Kam Fook at Chatswood Westfield Shoppingtown is a popular Chinese reception venue due to its high ceilings, traditional decor, location, food and the capacity to sit the entire village.

The bride swapped her white wedding dress for a strapless Chinese wedding gown and the groom continued to look smart in the tux he wore to the church ceremony earlier.

Apart from listening to heartfelt speeches, guests at the dinner reception enjoyed a 12 Course Chinese Banquet, this included:

  • Sliced Barbecue Suckling Pig
  • Fried Seafood Rolls
  • Crab Meat with Mixed Vegetables
  • Shark Fin Soup with Shredded Chicken
  • Supreme Braised Lobster
  • Braised Sea-Cucumber and Mushrooms in Oyster Sauce
  • Steamed Live Coral Trout
  • Roasted Pigeons
  • Steamed Fresh Prawn Rice in Lotus Leaf (alternate serve)
  • Braised E-Fu Noodle (alternate serve)
  • Sweet Red Bean Soup
  • Home-made Chinese Cookies
  • Seasonal Fruit Platter

It was a wonderful evening of celebration. In terms of food, the highlight for me was the lobster (loved the flavour), the suckling pig and fried seafood roll that came as starters.

Wendy & Samuel, as the best man said – may you continue to play lots of computer games together, continue to eat lots of junk food together and may you grow in love for Christ and for one another.
