Excelsior Jones – Ashfield

Excelsior Jones was named ‘Best New Cafe’ in the 2013 SMH Good Cafe Guide. This corner-shop cafe is tucked away in a quiet end of Ashfield, about a 30 minute walk from the train station. Cafe Enzo – Hunter Valley


I recently went to the Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales for a holiday with Peter, this was my first time visiting this amazing area only 2 hours north of Sydney. The Hunter Valley is filled with breathtaking views and Aussie wildlife can be seen at your doorstep. With over 150 wineries, the region is best known for its wines and vineyards. So even though I am not much of a drinker, we joined a wine tour and visited multiple cellar doors to sample their wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Where there is wine, you’ll also find good food. So over the next few posts, I’ll write about the restaurants and cafes we visited during our short stay. Continue reading
